| By now, I'd dropped all the impressions. Even Mike Yarwood had vanished from the scene. I now concentrated on a topical stand-up act that suited the venues that I played. The cabaret clubs had virtually all disappeared by now and 'fun pubs' were all the rage. These were instigated by the 'Amsterdam Bar' type of venue. Of course, there was always the working mens clubs........... It was difficult, but I stuck at it. Why? I still don't know. I just reckoned that better times were ahead. |
